I know you cant keep a flying squirrel as a pet but can you keep a normal squirrel as a pet?

It is not legal in most states to take a wild squirrel and keep it as a pet. In some states it is legal to get them from a licensed breeder, put you need to get a special permit to own them.

If you do come across an injured squirrel, you should contact your local animal control. Most states have wild animal rehabs that help to get wild animals back where they belong....in the wild.I know you cant keep a flying squirrel as a pet but can you keep a normal squirrel as a pet?
You can keep the squirrel as a pet but your safest bet is not to because you are holding back the squirrel from its fresh air, natrual neutrionts and it is just not good to keep one because it has a greater chance of dieing in captivity because you will not probobaly feed it the right stuff it needs.I know you cant keep a flying squirrel as a pet but can you keep a normal squirrel as a pet?
No, because last time i t ried to keep a squirell as a pet it scratced me on the face and my brother he had 2 scars one by the ear and by the eye.

But you can put bread crumbs on a tree branch to give them food to eat.

i tried the bread crumbs thing when i woke up i found 6 squirrels sharing it .
you can have a normal one as a pet as long as you find one that is a baby and hand raise it it will be a good pet. One time I found a baby by its mom in the middle of the street crying because its mom was hit by a car and I picked it up and ended up feeding it for a few days then gave it to a friend of mine and she kept it untill it died a few years later and it would run around her house and was very nice so it can be done.
I knew a husband and wife who lived up on a apartment in new york city. The squirrels were very tame and they would eat right out of the there hands on the balcony but they would bite occasionally and when they did the couple would have to rush o to the emergency room because the bites can be so bad
Yes. I have one that I raised from a baby. When it was small I fed it on a bottle. Now it eats what ever it likes. Fruit, nuts, corn, vegetables, dog food........

I supplement her diet with deer horns. There is something that they need from them. They also use them to keep their teeth from growing too long.
no.....they bite

well i think you can if you wanted but it's not common

they are wild animals so taking them from the open wouldn't be kind
