I know a 10 year old girl with one. They are not social unless you get them as a newborn and spend much much bonding time with them. You should have a little pouch attached to you that they can sleep in during the day. You need to give them milk yourself. They make great pets once a bond is made.

The worst thing you can do is have two of them in the same cage because they won't bond to you, they will bond to each other. If you get a metal cage, they should be fine, but it is important to get them newborn and give them milk yourself; you become a mother in a sense.

If a ten year old can do it, anyone can. You just need to do your homework and not listen to other people who did NOT do their homework on them before deciding to keep them as pets. Wild adult squirrels will be just that...wild. They are adorable and when raised properly make amazing companions.

I caught a couple of them one time and decided to keep them as pets. It was not a good idea. They are not very civilized and they can chew through almost anything. They got loose after chewing through their cage in the garage. One got into the house, chewed a hole in the kitchen ceiling and got into a lemon maringue pie. He couldn't escape from the pie and we found him dead in it. I didn't eat the pie. This sounds like a made-up story, but it's true.
You cant buy one. They are wild. They belong to Nature. It is not unique to take from the wild. They also happen to be protected by laws. Buy a puppy. Find yourself a new fiance.
I recently charged $1800 to kill a bunch in a woman's attic and proof it so they wouldn't come back

I never heard of anyone actually wanting them in the house
