I want to buy a sugar glider/flying squirrel. Where can I get one?

I want to buy a sugar glider sooo bad. I live in MN and of course would RATHER get one here so I don't have to travel. I have a child with medical problems. If anyone knows a breeder or a pet store who sells them, please let me know! Thanks all!I want to buy a sugar glider/flying squirrel. Where can I get one?
Hi, the craigslist idea is a good one, but keep in mind you'll probably be getting a glider that hasn't had a lot of human contact. They tend to be rehomed multiple times, making them even more shy (ie terrified) than the average glider. If you're up to the task of working with an unbonded glider, it would be a great way to give a glider in need a great home. If not, keep up your search for a local breeder.

I don't know of anyone specific in your area, but if you go to http://www.sugarglider.net you can view a breeder database, see gliders for sale and even post a glider wanted ad in the classified section. You may be able to find someone in your area, or someone who can ship to a local airport.

My recommendation is to stay away from pet stores and flea markets or big shows that have mass amounts (or even just a few) gliders for sale. These usually come from glider mills, and these guys are on the same scale as puppy mills. Horrid conditions, and usually sick gliders are sold far too young. Not all pet stores fall under this umbrella, but many are just too ill informed on gliders needs to keep healthy well adjusted gliders.

As for flying squirrels, I've heard there is a huge waiting list on them, but then again I don't know too much about them.

Hope that helps!!I want to buy a sugar glider/flying squirrel. Where can I get one?
Use the internet and do searchs for breeders of
I would say go to glider central, they have alot of info on Sugar gliders and a breeders list. Its sugarglider .net

(I think some already put it in there answer) As for a sugar glider being a good pet, it depend on the person. Although occasionally a glider will bond instantly the majority of the time this is not the case. If you are willing to spend lots of time from months to even years getting a good bond going, they are wonderfull. However many people want instant gratification and the sugar glider gets abondoned. Please do lots of research befor deciding if a SG is the pet for you.
i cannot tell you where to get a sugar glider, but if you call the Fish Bowl in Temple,Tx. there is a man named Mike who works there and can help you. he had a couple of sugar gliders, and can at least give you tips on how to take care of them. FYI; if you do get a sugar glider, DO NOT feed him any type of lettuce, it will kill him. Phone # 254-773-9771. hours are 9-5 SS and 9-6 MF
DO NOT GET ONE THEY ARE TERRIBLE PETS!! they are snotty and selfish! They might sound cute and cool to have but trust me just don't get on you will be very sorry that you ever thought that the people on the internet brag about how great they are! JUST DON'T LISTEN!!!!!!
Ok if your talking about an acual squirrel, dont get one. get a dog or cat. squirrels were ment to be outside, it would be cruel to keep one as a pet like that. not only that im sure it would have behaivoral problems.
check craigslist.org and look for your state. i live in nj and i see ads for sugargliders on a daily basis. a lot of times you find them for free or for a low price with all their supplies included.
internet
Sugar gliders are'nt good pets. They are usually meant to be kept in their natural environment. They are really cute but its better off getting a different animal more suitable as a pet. If you really want a sugar glider and can take care of it REALLY good and properly you might want to go to a wildlife area or something.
