Definately the Flying squirrels. Why? BECUZ THEY CAN FLY!!!!What would be a better pet, a sugar gliders or a flying squirrel?
I am not familiar with flying squirrels but i know someone with a sugar glider. It was a nocturnal animal so it pretty much just slept all day! It would never come out of its pouch (you have to get these little pouches for them to stay in to be comfortable) and they would make the pouches smell so bad so you have to wash them a lot. I am just warning you of these things, i am sure there are a lot of responsibilites with the squirrels too though.
both flying squirrels and sugar gliders are nocturnal. how much either bonds with you and/or other people depends on how much you socialize with it. in terms of having one as a pet, you need to check local laws to make sure your state allows either. flying squirrels are illegal or require permits in many states. i am owned by a flying squirrel and can attest to the fact that they require tons of attention. she has bonded primarily with me, and does not like to play with other people unless i am there. honestly, i recommend against getting a flying squirrel as a pet; for most people, it's more commitment than they are ready to take on. please make sure you are really ready to take on either pet, as both can live up to 10-15 years, and it is quite difficult to find a pet sitter who is able to take on a pet requiring such specialized care.
Yes, Sugar Gliders bond more. But when you first get one, you should buy a bonding pouch to bond with it :) I think sugar gliders are better. My friend owns two and they are so cute and awesome :)
Get a flying squirrel! How many people get to say that they get to own a squirrel that flys???
