neither are calm and they are both a lot of work. i am currently 'owned' by a southern flyer, and she is pretty crazy. i can't speak for sugar gliders since i've never owned one, but i'm pretty sure they are also fairly hyper. if you're looking for a pet that is going to sit in your lap/hand, it definitely is not a flyer.Sugar gliders vs flying squirrels?
