Are southern flying squirrels legal as pets in Florida?

i've read about southern flying squirrels and now i really want one! but there are two problems: #1, i don't know if they are legal as pets in florida. #2: one of my 3 dogs doesn't like small animals so if i get a southern flyer, she will kill it. WHAT DO I DO???!!!!Are southern flying squirrels legal as pets in Florida?

#2 Keep your squirrel in a room the dogs do not have access to and only let the squirrel out of that room when the dogs are confined to another room.Are southern flying squirrels legal as pets in Florida?
Don't know about them being legal or not. But if you think one of your dog's would kill it, i would not put myself through that loss.
