My cat brought me a flying squirrel tonight. Its still alive but may have a hurt leg. I gave it some walnuts and pecans (unsalted) and smashed banana. What do I do for its bedding? Any other tips or advise for flying squirrels?I need flying squirrel info?
You can try an apple slice too, they eat fruits and veggies, and sometimes insects so if there is a pet store nearby and they have mealworms or crickets you can try a few.I need flying squirrel info?
Its leg is probobly not broke, I would relese it in morning and let nature take its course
first of all makesure that it doesnt have any contangous desieses. and then give it bedding that is cotton and soft. tip: try to make fun tunnels and play toys to keep it occupied, after all they do live in the wild where they run around constantly.
You're doing the right thing.
Umm... you could just tear up some cardboard
paper.. It doesn't need a mansion bed to sleep in.
The chances are is that it is going
to die.. ( i know sad, hu? ) but you should
really just take it to the vet...
If you are really poor then you could try and take
care of the squirrel. So ya just tear up some card
board paper for the bedding
Also make sure you put it in a cage
or something to hold it in because even
if your trying to help him he doesn't know
that and the animal instincts are to run away
to some where safe.. They don't realize you home
is safe. Just try imagining a HUGE thing 500 feet
picked you up when ur most vornorable and carried
you.. you would think to RUN!!! well.. i hope i helped =D
It's bedding should be something soft in a small box, secured from the cat. My advice is, since you don't know how to deal with the animal take it to the vet as soon as possible. You are giving the creature a death sentence if you don't allow a properly trained individual to rehabilitate it.
